Either go to http://<yourblogname>.your-japan.com/wp-login, or click on “Log-In” in the 3rd column, about half-way down the page.

Why Should I Blog Here, Rather Than Some Other Blog Site?

What Can I Write About? Do I Have To Be In Japan?

The whole purpose of the Your-Japan Network is to show the world the “real Japan”. This can be what Japan means to you, or your direct experience with Japan. We’re relaxed about your content, as long as the underlying theme is your experiences in, around, and/or leading up to Japan. And of course, while living here or after going back home.

You don’t have to live here to have a Japan experience! You can have a Japanese girlfriend/boyfriend, you can study Martial Arts in a different country, you can be studying Japanese, you can have a trip to Japan planned and be excitedly preparing for it, you can have Japanese friends, you can be a fan of anime or manga - the list goes on!

How Do I Make a Post?

Log-in, click Write/Post. Be sure to click Publish if you’re ready to Publish your article immediately.

The interface is very intuitive, it will only take you a few minutes to work out most of the functionality.

How Do I Make a Permanent Post?

Log-in, and click on Write/Page.

What is the “Powered by FireStats” at the Bottom of the Page?

This is a small picture to let people know your site is tracking visitors using Firestats. To turn it off, log-in, and click FireStats/WordPress Settings, and untick “Add FireStats footer to blog”. You don’t need to click on any update button, it’s automatic.

How Can I See How Many People are Looking at My Blog?

Your-Japan offers a full visitor tracking system with FireStats. Log In, and Click on FireStats. You will be able to see plenty of information about where your visits are coming from.

Fun tip - click on WordPress Settings, and then on “Add flag icon to comments”. Then you will see the country of every person who posts comments on your blog displayed in a tiny flag format!

Why Doesn’t My Site Look Like The Other Sites?

If you’ve just created a blog, there is some manual configuration we need to do to increase the available functionality. We should have this done within a couple of days. If you still have problems, please contact the Admin.

How Can I Add A Nice Japan Image To The Top Of My Blog?

You can your own image to be used at the top of your blog. Follow these simple steps:

1. Log-into Your-Japan
2. Click on Design
3. Click on Customer Header Image
4. Select Your Image!

To use one of ours, click on one of the following, and save it to your hard disk, then select it.

How Do I Select a Theme?

Click on Design/Themes and select a new theme.

We only have 1 theme for you to use right now. We’ll be adding more soon.

Why Is it Free?

We support the Server Costs and Internet connection fees by running Google Adsense ads on all blogs on the Your-Japan network.

Can I Make Money from Blogging at Your-Japan?

You can ask your readers to provide you with a PayPal Donation. We can help you set this up.

Once the monthly server costs and internet charges are covered by Adsense, we’ll be offering Your-Japan bloggers a Google Adsense revenue sharing system.

What Media Does Your-Japan support?

Your-Japan supports the following media :
mp3, flv, Quicktime mov, mp4, m4v, m4a, m4b, 3gp as well as Windows wmv, avi and asf.

We also support the following video sites :
YouTube, Google Video, iFilm, Revver, Metacafe, MySpace and GoEar.
